ΟΙ ΑΚΤΕΣ ΠΟΥ ΧΡΕΙΑΖΟΜΑΣΤΕ / THE COASTS WE NEED

Η MELLIFERΑ την Κυριακή 12/8/2018, βρέθηκε στην παραλία Διγελιωτίκων και ενημέρωσε τους λουόμενους για τις βλαβερές συνέπειες ρίψης των αποτσίγαρων στις ακτές, με τη δράση της: "ΟΙ ΑΚΤΕΣ ΠΟΥ ΧΡΕΙΑΖΟΜΑΣΤΕ". Ξεκινήσαμε στις 11 το πρωί από το σημείο που βρίσκονται οι σημαίες στα Διγελιώτικα και κινηθήκαμε κατά μήκος όλης της παραλίας. Ενημερώσαμε τους λουόμενους και τοποθετήσαμε ενημερωτικά έντυπα, σε κάθε ομπρέλα κατά μήκος της παραλίας Διγελιωτίκων, που αναφέρουν τις βλαβερές συνέπειες της ρίψης των αποτσίγαρων στις παραλίες στο περιβάλλον, και κατ'επέκταση στην ανθρώπινη υγεία. Στο πλευρό μας βρέθηκαν η Κοινότητα Διγελιωτίκων, ο Πολιτιστικός Σύλλογος Διγελιωτίκων, όλοι οι επιχειρηματίες της παραλίας, καθώς και οι υπέροχες εθελόντριές μας Μαρία και Φλώρα.

MELLIFERA on Sunday, August 12, 2018, was found at the beach of Dipeliotika and informed the bathers about the harmful effects of throwing off cigarette butts on the shores, with her action: "THE COASTS WE NEED". We started at 11am from the point where the Blue Flag is located at Dipeliotika and we moved along the entire beach. We informed the bathers and placed brochures on each umbrella alongside the Diggeliotika Beach, which reported the harmful effects of throwing off cigarette butts on the beaches into the environment, and hence human health. At our side were the Dipeliotika Community, the Dimeliotika Cultural Association, all the businessmen on the beach, as well as our wonderful volunteers Maria and Flora.

THE COASTS WE NEED
Almost 3,500 tons of cigarette smokers are thrown on Greek beaches annually, causing an apparent ecological disaster and at the same time threatening public health.
According to the data presented, cigarette butts are the most common waste on Greek coasts, accounting for 38.3% of those collected.
The cigarette smoke is a dangerous pollutant as its main part, the filter, contains residues of carcinogenic substances such as tar and nicotine, which can cause direct poisoning to young children if the kids find them in the sand and put them in their mouths. Also, cigarettes contaminate beaches and aquifers as well as marine animals and are responsible for the release of toxic dioxins, which poison the entire food chain and consequently the human organism.
LAW: 1650/86 For the protection of the environment (Government Gazette 160 / Α / 16-10-86) To protect the coasts of the seas, the banks of the rivers, the lakes, the bottom of these and the islands as natural resources ecosystems and landscape features.

Διεθνής Mail Art 'Εκθεση "THE POST" στο Αίγιο 2018 / International Mail Art Exhibition "THE POST" in Aigio 2018

Ο Χώρος του πολιτιστικού κέντρου «Αλέκος Μέγαρης» στο Αίγιο, φιλοξένησε τη Διεθνή Έκθεση mail art "THE POST" (ΤΟ ΤΑΧΥΔΡΟΜΕΙΟ), ο οποίος άνοιξε τις πύλες του  το Σάββατο 28 Ιουλίου 2018 στις 8:30μ.μ.
Η mellifera με την αφορμή της συμπλήρωσης των 190 χρόνων ζωής των Ελληνικών Ταχυδρομείων το 2018, κάλεσε Έλληνες και ξένους mail artists να δημιουργήσουν έργα για μια έκθεση-γιορτή με θέμα “THE POST” (τον Ταχυδρόμο, το Ταχυδρομείο). 

The "Alekos Megaris" cultural venue in Aigio hosted the International Mail Art Exhibition "THE POST", which opened its gates on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 8:30 pm.
Mellifera invited Greek and foreign mail artists to create artworks for a feast-show named "The Post"  on the occasion of the completion of 190 years of Hellenic Post in 2018.

Όπως είναι φυσικό, όλοι οι mail artists έχουν μια καλή σχέση με τους ταχυδρομικούς υπαλλήλους και στηρίζουν τα ταχυδρομικά επαγγέλματα, μιας και είναι το μέσο ανταλλαγής ιδεών, πολιτισμικών στοιχείων και επικοινωνίας με καλλιτέχνες απ΄όλο τον πλανήτη. Συχνά σημειώνουν πως το ταχυδρομικό τους κουτί δεν είναι ένα δοχείο λογαριασμών, αλλά ένα μουσείο. Άλλωστε χωρίς τον Ταχυδρόμο δεν υπάρχει mail art.

Of course, all mail artists have a good relationship with postal workers and support the postal professions as it is the means of exchanging ideas, cultural elements and communicating with artists around the world. They often note that their mailbox is not an account of bills, but a museum. Besides, without the Postman there is no mail art.

Περισσότεροι από 178 καλλιτέχνες, από 36 χώρες, δημιούργησαν πάνω στο θέμα περισσότερα από 250 έργα τα οποία εκτέθηκαν μέχρι και τις 5 Αυγούστου, με την υποστήριξη της ΔΗ.Κ.ΕΠ.Α., στο  Πολιτιστικό Κέντρο «Αλέκος Μέγαρης».

More than 178 artists, from 36 countries, created more than 250 projects, exhibited until 5 August, with the support of DIKEPA, at the "Alekos Megaris" Cultural Center.

Το "WINDOWS ON THE WORLD" Project 2018 που πραγματοποιήθηκε στη Λέρο από 23 έως 28 Ιουνίου 2018, είναι ένα πρόγραμμα του Μουσικού τμήματος του Πανεπιστήμιου του Εδιμβούργου, στήριξης των προσφύγων με μέσο επικοινωνίας τη μουσική!

Για την πραγματοποίηση του προγράμματος συνεργάστηκαν οι οργανώσεις Music in the Community, Solidarity Now & mellifera.

"WINDOWS ON THE WORLD" Project 2018, held in Leros from 23 to 28 June 2018, is a media support program of the Music Department of the University of Edinburgh for refugees!

The Music in the Community, Solidarity Now & Mellifera collaborated with the program.
